Kolovraty
This city quarter of Prague is situated South-East of Prague in the direction of Říčany. For transfer to and from the centre of Prague it is ideal to use regular train connections running between Prague Main Station - Benešov or, possibly a bus line of the Municipal Public Transport (MHD). Among other lines you will also find a school bus transporting pupils to the school at Uhříněves. Passenger car transport will in the near future undergo a significant change, motorway R1 is planned as a bypass of Prague, that will pass Kolovraty nearby and will significantly improve transport accessibility of Kolovraty. Construction of this motorway bypass should commence in 2009 and be finished in 2012.
In the municipality there is a kindergarten and Junior school (form 1-5), general practitioners, a dentist and a post-office. In the centre of the municipality is the building of the Municipal Office, info centre with library, a pharmacy, Home care service, gymnasium with fitness centre and a fire station. For sport activities there is the Sokol association, a football team with its own football grounds. Furthermore the municipality has tennis courts, a number of children's playgrounds, one ground with a "U-ramp" and a climbing wall, and a swimming pool. You will also find small shops, restaurants, flower shops, a chemist's or a butcher's shop and various other small services such as a hairdresser, cosmetics, massage studio.
Possibilities in the neighbourhood
In the surrounding countryside walking tracks and cycle tracks have been built, that can be used for cycle trips in the Summer and in the Winter for skiing. Local roads are lined by trees and at present measure approximately 30 kilometres.
In nearby Říčany (approx. 2 km from Kolovraty) there is a shopping centre with supermarkets Billa, Lidl and a Gardening Centre, a Tesco hypermarket is under construction. In Průhonice (8 km distant from Kolovraty) a large Commercial Centre Průhonice - Čestlice has been built, where you will find a number of important firms such as Kika, Makro, Bauhaus, Hypernova, a number of car dealers and services.
