The four storey building, partially with cellars underneath in the centre of the Kolbenova City Development grounds originally served as the headquarters of ČKD Trakce. Directly before commencement of reconstruction it was used as an administration object and hinterground for film studios. For the possible usage of this building in the future we elaborated a number of alternatives. Besides the most effective alternative to reconstruct the building to a modern administration object, we also considered using it as a school or museum, even these solutions from the technical point of view could be realised easily.
Thanks to our success in the selection procedures seeking a place suitable for the seat of the Vegacom a.s. company the building was reconstructed during a very short period into a modern administration object complying with all requirements for functioning and well equipped offices. The Vegacom a.s. company has thus become the sole tenant of the building from June.
From history
The origin of the building in the second half of the fifties of the last century is related with building activities in the scope of post-war re-development. The object was designed as a two-aisle building with a reinforced concrete bearing structure in a module of approx. 4 x 8 m in the East half, and 8 x 8 m in the West part. The structures are in a very good condition.
